INFO
Have you ever watched the world move in slow motion? Have you seen the glow of each simple movement? Remember this moment and set it to music. That's where you'll find Wussom*Pow!
Melodic, quiescent, and full of electrified moments, wussom*pow!'s kaleidoscope of sound is a fixture of the San Francisco indie music scene.
Since forming in 1997, wussom*pow! can be found playing alongside the likes of Mates of State, the Fairways, Aisler's Set, Electro Group and many others.
Deep Blue Hearts and Solid Hands is wussom*pow!'s first full length release after a few 7" and compilation releases. After a brief hiatus in 2001, wussom*pow! is back playing shows in support of their new lp.

WUSSOM*POW!
Deep Blue Hearts and Solid Hands
(Omnibus)
***
On Deep Blue Hearts and Solid Hands, sighing guitars and gorgeously
depressive female vocals are pushed along by sparse, patient drumming and a
secret logic that only careful listening will reveal. Wussom*Pow! plays
quietly not because they dislike volume, but because they understand its
value when they make us wait for it. On "Days and Nights," the long, slow
note and crashing cymbal that end the song make for a dizzying and
gratifying moment, if only because it is so unexpected after the twenty or
so sleepy minutes that lead up to it. This is a subtle album that requires
dedicated listening, but it's worth it.

wussom*pow! "Deep Blue Hearts and Solid Hands" (Omnibus, P.O. Box 16-2372,
Sacramento, CA 95816 www.omnibusrecords.com) This San Francisco quartet are
fronted by two female vocalists, who have beautiful sorta sci-fi cool
voices, not miles away from Laetitia Sadier and Mary Hansen walking slowly
down lost streets of forgotten moments. Shoegazing to be sure, but with
great pop aspirations and abilities. The only possible misstep might be the
cover of The Beatles "I Will"; but I like it. This is a beautiful way to
spend a quarter of an hour.
